The latest startup hoping to teach the world to sing is Realize Music, and it’s doing it with an app for the Meta Quest VR headsets. Realize Music: Sing will be released on 23 January in North America, focusing on “vocalisation aimed at providing therapeutic benefits”.
Yes, this is about the wellbeing benefits of singing, armed with a catalogue of music licensed from Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group. The app will initially offer discounted subscriptions of $9.99 a month and $99.99 a year, with plans to release on Apple, Samsung and Sony headsets in the future after the launch exclusive with Meta.
The company claims a catalogue of more than 1m songs for that launch, with its core singing dynamic accompanied by “3D painting and air drumming” to get people moving. This gameplay video shows how it all works on-screen. B2B firm Tuned Global is on board as a licensing and technology partner for the startup.
