Tuned Global Partners with Beatdapp to Combat Streaming Fraud in the Music Industry

Beatdapp, a leading streaming fraud detection company, has analysed over 4 trillion streams and 40 trillion user events, and estimates that at least 10% of global music streams are fake. Recently, the company uncovered that half of the streams from more than 50 distributors were fraudulent.

Fraudulent streams have become a widespread problem, siphoning millions of dollars away from legitimate artists and labels, and to combat this, Beatdapp has announced a partnership with Tuned Global, a B2B provider of digital music solutions. The collaboration is to tackle the growing issue of fraudulent streams in the music industry and improve transparency in royalty distribution by integrating Beatdapp’s fraud detection technology into Tuned Global’s platform.

By leveraging Beatdapp’s advanced algorithms, which process hundreds of anonymised data points from Tuned Global’s backend, the integrated system will detect and prevent fake streams with unprecedented accuracy. This will help protect Tuned Global's clients, enabling them to guard their streaming services against fraudulent activities and ensuring that only legitimate streams count toward royalty payments.

Con Raso, Managing Director of Tuned Global, shares in the press release: "Integrating Beatdapp’s fraud detection into our platform enables our clients to safeguard their digital music initiatives from the start. This collaboration reflects Tuned Global’s commitment to providing businesses with all the tools necessary to create ethical, sustainable music services. Together with Beatdapp, we are cementing Tuned Global’s reputation as the go-to partner for building and managing successful music ventures."

The partnership also has a forward-thinking edge, extending beyond traditional digital service providers (DSPs) to cover emerging platforms such as Discord, VR headsets, gaming consoles, and Web3-based music services. These platforms are becoming an increasingly important part of the music ecosystem, and the collaboration ensures that they can implement fraud prevention measures from the outset.

Spiro Arkoudis, Chief Revenue Officer at Tuned Global, also highlighted how crucial fraud detection has become for securing licensing agreements with major music labels and publishers. "Fraud prevention is moving from being a 'nice-to-have' to an industry requirement," he said, noting that integrating Beatdapp’s technology will give Tuned Global’s clients a competitive edge.

Beatdapp’s Co-CEOs, Andrew Batey and Morgan Hayduk, shared in the press release that, "By leveraging the anonymised data collected by Tuned Global, we’re able to detect fraud more precisely and efficiently. This partnership provides us with a powerful framework to expand our reach and establish a standard for fraud prevention across a variety of platforms."

Tuned Global’s clients, who include major brands such as Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group, and Sony Music, will now be able to incorporate fraud detection into their music services as a core feature.
