Universal Music Group has extended its existing licensing agreement with Tuned Global, a technology provider in business-to-business music streaming. Under the new deal, Tuned Global will be able to gain access to the wide catalog of music available with UMG.

Tuned Global's technology helps a wide range of businesses launch their own music streaming services or add licensed tracks into their online products.

Raso said the collaboration will help smooth the music-licensing process via Tuned Global's services. That is especially helpful to clients that are newer to licensing or are confused as to how approvals are handled. Whether a company is in gaming, health tech or telecommunications looking to start a streaming service, for example, Tuned Global can help them secure the UMG licenses.

It manages the licensing for its clients, while the ownership remains with UMG and the final say in the use of their catalog. On Tuned Global, targeting specific music genres is also an option within its platform.
