B2B music firm Tuned Global has expanded its partnership with Universal Music Group. It now has a global licensing agreement for UMG’s recorded music catalogue, which it will make available to its various clients.
The deal builds on Tuned Global’s existing agreement with UMG, which saw it taking a direct content feed from the major label and hosting its catalogue to deliver to DSPs. In theory, the expansion will help more new services in areas including fitness, gaming and medical tech to use UMG’s catalogue.
In separate news, the major label has also launched its 2024 voter education campaign ahead of the US elections later this year. The ‘Use Your Voice’ campaign includes partnerships with HeadCount, the NAACP and other voter resource organisations. “Since we started the program in 2020, it has helped tens of thousands of voters get to the polls and vote with confidence. This year, it will do so again through the work of our colleagues, our passionate artists, songwriters and labels, and our incredible voter resource partner organisations,” said UMG’s EVP and chief impact officer Susan Mazo.
