Tuned Global uses Pacemaker tech for its own AI-powered DJ

B2B music firm Tuned Global wants to up the mixing quality of the streaming services it runs for clients. To do that, it’s launching a product called AutomixIQ, capable of mixing a set of tracks as if it were a human DJ. The tool is proven: it’s based on the technology developed by DJ startup Pacemaker, which Tuned Global acquired in 2023.

AutomixIQ is being launched as a software development kit (SDK) that works with iOS and Android streaming apps. In a break from its existing business practices, the SDK can be used on its own by clients – they don’t have to be using other Tuned Global services too.

“We’re excited to offer it to our clients and to other services who don’t want to pursue a significant machine-learning project,” said Tuned Global boss Con Raso.

“Advanced user engagement and personalisation features will define the next decade of music streaming, and we have ensured any service can incorporate them,” added Pacemaker founder Jonas Norberg, who is now head of AI for Tuned Global.
