Streaming media company Tuned Global is enlisting music-API companies MediMusic and Nue Life Health to promote music and audio components in medical treatments. From memory care to pain management, PTSD and major depression, financial analysts foresee the market for music therapy growing to $4.42 Billion by 2028.
MediMusic’s unique technology prescribes music as medicine to reduce pain and anxiety. It employs proprietary algorithms to extract relevant features from a piece of music, resulting in a fingerprint for healthcare use. The MediMusic app analyzes a patient’s age, gender, nationality, and ethnicity. Based on sociological and psychological science, it then compiles a 20-minute playlist of soothing music.

Initial clinical trials of MediMusic saw up to a 22% reduction in heart rate for patients living with dementia during the COVID-19 pandemic. Other uses for the app include reducing pre/post operation pain, reducing chronic pain, dentistry, and improving motor response as part of a physical rehabilitation program.
Tuned Global will provide metadata, music content, and streaming service functionality via its full suite of APIs. This also includes reporting to rightsholders and a content management system to help MediMusic curators.

Nue Life Health administers ketamine therapy to people requiring mental health treatments including those with PTSD and treatment-resistant depression. The company offers a companion app to allow patients in the US to interact with clinicians remotely. Music forms a layer in this app-supported experience that guides patients through their ketamine sessions. Using Tuned Global’s content delivery technology, patients can access millions of tracks the company licenses from major music labels.
